Systems Safety Engineer

Hi All!
We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Safety engineer with option to work form either Sydney, Canberra or Adelaide to provide critical assurance and systems capability requirements for a large tactical solutions defence program.
Contract period: 9 months with possible extensions
Start: Immediate
Rate: To be discussed
Clearance: NV1 required

Role: Systems Safety Engineer

Role details:

• Maintain the System Safety Program Plan.
• Contribute to the overall safety case.
• Contribute to the completion of program milestones.
• Conduct system safety analysis and deliver associated system safety deliverables in accordance with schedule, most notably the OSHA and HHA
• Conduct reviews of supplier safety analysis and associated liaison activities.
• Conduct ongoing management of the hazard tracking system.
• Manage the planning, coordination, and conduct of system safety working groups.
• Provide status and estimate remaining effort for assigned tasks.
• Identify, report and manage risks using defined processes.
• Provide support to design reviews throughout the program lifecycle.
• Adhere to the system safety engineering process.
• Other duties as deemed relevant to program and operational requirements and within the technical competency of the position.

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• A qualified practitioner with degree qualifications or relevant industry experience
• Minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of Australian safety related legislation, in particular legislation relating to workplace health & safety.
• Knowledge of Defence safety standards along with industry best practice safety standards
• NV1 clearance
